How do I deactivate my account?



Permanently deleting your Facebook account means you will not ever be able to reactivate or retrieve any of the content or information you've added. If you would like your account permanently deleted with no option for recovery.

To deactivate your account follow these steps:
  1. Click the account menu at the top right of any Facebook page
  2. Select Account Settings
  3. Click Security in the left-hand column
  4. Click Deactivate your account
  5. Facebook will ask you why you’re deactivating your account. For every reason there is a hard-sell counterpoint they throw in your face. Be strong.
  6. Then Facebook ask you to enter password. So, Enter your password to continue with the deactivation.
  7. A captcha will come up.Fill it
  8. After correctly filling captcha,you will receive this type of message.


NOTE: If you deactivate your account, your timeline disappears from the Facebook service immediately. People on Facebook won't be able to search for you, though some info, like messages you sent, may still be visible to others. We also save your timeline information (ex: friends, photos, interests, etc.) in case you want to come back .Before you do this, you may want to download a copy of your info from Facebook. Then, if you'd like your account permanently deleted with no option for recovery.

If you’d like to come back to Facebook anytime after you've deactivated your account, you can reactivate your account by logging in with your email and password. Your timeline will be restored in its entirety (friends, photos, interests, etc.). Remember that you will need to have access to the login email address for your account in order to reactivate it.
