VIRTUAL MEDIA WORLD

Social Media is about sociology and psychology more than technology. Now, our real world is extending its arm to virtual world by all the social media platform like BBM, Whatsapp, Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, Youtube , Flickr, Skype..list is running endless. Recalling from a personal experience,i came to know about Orkut from a friend when i was in 9th standard. What a rage it was! Everybody used to post on communities and increasing their number of scraps. I am sure now-a-days student of 9th class just have heard name of it. Scraps were like open-to-all chat, much of less privacy. I am feeling like old granny telling small kids about old days.

Then Mr. Marc Zuckerberg came up with the idea of an advanced version of social networking, whom we call as FACEBOOK. It was titillation and captured our irrational forces of mind.

The idea was to have an identity,and keep in touch via single platform with all those people who have been responsible for making you stand at this stage, but it turned out to be attention from friends and reading loud others personal problems,discussing openly and responding them. Putting up status is like saying something without confronting anyone. Shy, timid people called facebook as the podium to speak out. It made me remind of guy whom i never saw uttering a word in those four years of graduation, now sharing pics and quotes supporting his lifestyle.

I would have to admit the moment we post a new picture or status, we keep checking and wondering how many likes we got. Number of likes on one's picture became a certified approval for confidence. But what of those who didn't managed to get enough likes?
I would summarize it by saying craze for something is not bad,but allowing it to influence us is bad. Avoid it until you are not mature enough to deal with.
